Gossip Hour
Deep in the clutches of the internet, there is a blogger. Her name is Cara... or more familiarly known as maskcara. I'll be quite frank when I say this, but her blog puts mine to shame... it's filled with original tutorials, tips, makeovers, and best of all her mantra.
I've linked her before, and I'll link her again (she's just that amazing) -> maskcara

Writing Style: The best way I can describe it is honest
Something Unique: She tries to use the same products in her tutorials so people don't have to spend a million and a half dollers on makeup, also she does makeover mondays where she takes real people and does a before and after type of thing with them

Oh and by the way she also won allure's beauty blogger of the year award (I DID say she was amazing).

Long Time No See
Where, oh where, oh where have I been? In that "lovely" place entitled school and, earlier this summer, work. For the record I am a junior in high school, which means that I am relatively busy... but that is not an excuse to not be posting!
No worries I'll have an actual update coming soon.
On a side note I bought a new camera, and I'll have more info regarding that coming soon as well.

The 10 Things I would Repurchase Tag
So this tag has been going around the beauty side of youtube, and since I loved seeing people's HG products I thought that I should do one. So essentially the tag is, if all of your makeup vanished (touch wood) what would be the first 10 items you would repurchase?
1. LORAC Pro Palette
Brief Overview
Price: $42
Packaging: one word... sleek (the texture is much like NARS packaging, which means that it picks up powders easily)
Product: 16 pigmented eyeshadows (8 matte and 8 shimmer)
Bonus: this palette is so versatile because the shades espresso or taupe can also be used to fill your brows, plus it comes with a great primer
2. Lancome Subtil Shimmer Blush in Rose Douceur
Brief Overview
Price: $30
Packaging: this is perfect for any handbag/makeup bag, it's not too big and not too small
Product: in my opinion this the most understated blush on the market, the product is wonderful yet we don't hear many people raving about it
Bonus: it comes with a decent brush
3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Perversion
7. Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer
1. LORAC Pro Palette
*picture from Sephora
I know that a lot of people chose their Naked palette for this tag, but personally if I could only have one palette I'd prefer my LORAC Pro because it also includes matte shades. And since this product also comes with a primer, I'm essentially killing two birds with one stone.

2. Lancome Subtil Shimmer Blush in Rose Douceur

Can we pause for a moment to appreciate the beautiful color of this blush (even through a computer screen). This product is perfect for every day wear because it adds a lovely natural flush to the cheeks, and it can be paired with almost any lipstick/eyeshadow.

3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Perversion

I was very close to picking my Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner, before realizing that not only do I use this eyeliner on my lid but I consistently use it on my tight line too (and since this tag only allows for 10 products I would much rather have a multipurpose liner).
Brief Overview
Price: $19
Packaging: I like that the outer packaging matches the color of the liner, it makes looking for a specific color in your makeup bag easier (this is more useful for the colorful liners, but still I appreciate it)
Product: this is the most pigmented/creamy black I have ever found (I am still looking for an acceptable/ cheaper alternative, and I might do a review on all the liners I've tried thus far)
Bonus: it lives up to its long-wearing promise
4. EOS lip balms
*picture taken from Amazon
I kid you not when I say I have already repurchased three of these, not because I wanted to start a collection, nope because I have actually finished all of the product. (Say WHAT?!?!)
Brief Overview
Price: $3
Packaging: Can it get more cute? Nope. I love the fact that this lip balm is egg shaped because it is easy to find in the jungle known as my purse (a bonus is that it is also large enough to be child friendly, my three year old niece adores playing "dress up" with this stuff)
Product: I have yet to find a lip balm that can mosturize as well as this puppy
Bonus: it's not outrageously priced!
5. Covergirl Perfect Blend Eye Pencil in Mink
*picture taken from Amazon
Yes, this product is technically an eye liner... but it can be used for the lips instead. I got the idea to use this product as a lip liner from the wonderful maskcara (I'm not going to lie when I say that I was skeptical at first, but then I tried it... and here it is on my list of HG products)
Brief Overview
Price: $5
Packaging: love the little smudger brush on the end
Product: this is great for nude lips!
Bonus: well technically you can use this as an eye liner...
6. Benefit Hoola Bronzer
*picture taken from Sephora
Now I wouldn't say that this is my HG bronzer because I am still looking for that, but it does come pretty darn close. (My problem with bronzers is that they tend to come out a bit orange-y on my skin tone... this one doesn't, but it's still not exactly what I'm looking for)
Brief Overview
Price: $28
Packaging: eh... I have a fear that I might crush this tiny package at any given moment
Product: this stuff is pigmented and a little goes a long way in my opinion
Bonus: the brush that this comes with is actually good
7. Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer
*picture taken from Google images
This is a great concealer, and it's easy to carry around. What's not to love?
Brief Overview
Price: $8
Packaging: I am going to put it out there, I hate the twist up (maybe it's just mine, because it takes a million and one turns to get any product on the brush)
Product: I use this more for the under eye area and for highlighting, rather than to cover spots (for spots this is an okay concealer)
Bonus: it's not clunky in your makeup bag
8. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
*picture taken from tumblr
I am a mascara junkie, there I admited it (they say the first step to recover from any addiction is to admit you have a problem... right?). That being said, I refuse to shell out extravagent amounts of cash to pay for something that needs to be changed quite frequently. Where does that leave me? Browsing the drugstore for some great mascaras.
Brief Overview
Price: $7
Packaging: I love the color purple... 'nuff said
Product: as you can imagine determining which mascara is my favorite was quite the challenge, but I decided that I love volume a tad more than length... so this mascara was perfect
Bonus: it works wonders
9. Rimmel Soft Kohl White Eyeliner
*picture taken from Google images
Yes this is technically the third eyeliner on this list, but seriously no look is complete with out it.
Brief Overview
Price: $4
Packaging: I think they might of changed it now (I have this type... but now they have a black casing I believe)
Product: this liner is lovely and pigmented, though its staying power is okay (on the waterline that is)
Bonus: a lot of people compare this liner to MAC
10. Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Lip Color in Vintage Rose (sheen)
*picture taken from Google images
Picking mascara was hard, but picking a lipstick was torture. In general we all tend to switch our lip color faster than we change outfits... which is saying something.
Brief Overview
Price: $22
Packaging: I adore the new casing, but sadly I still have the old one (I refuse to buy any more lip products until I've finished some of the ones I already have)
Product: Yes everyone says it... but this color is like my natural lip color but better!
Bonus: it mosturizes!
Did you notice that I didn't mention any sort of foundation in this list of ten? Well that's because I haven't found any that I particularly like, but if you have any suggestions then I would love to hear it.

Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Palette
Before I begin this review I would like to apologize for the late update. Now that it's out of the way let's begin.
The Basics
Price: about $20 at Target
Item: an all matte eyeshadow palette that leans toward the warmer shades (I have heard that some of these palettes come with little pull out tutorials, but mine didn't)
Packaging: this kit as survived the bottom of my purse, frightening I know, but it proves how durable the packaging is
First Impression: This lovely eyeshadow palette can compete with high end shadows, each shade is buttery soft and the colors blend like a dream.
Swatches
Due to the fact that I am in dire need of a new camera, I personally do not have swatches of this product but underneath is a link to a lovely blog who does.

Tutorial
Again, I need a new camera (and no worries I am getting one soon!), but in the meantime linked is a lovely tutorial by youtube guru shadesofkassie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgOI3-hPlAE
Pros:
all matte colors
lovely texture
all matte colors
pigmented colors
not chalky
all matte colors
durable packaging
no fallout
easy to blend
ALL MATTE COLORS!!! (I think it's safe to assume that I love the fact that there is finally a good and affordable palette with matte colors)
Cons:
some of the colors are a tad too similar
less cool toned colors
Final Verdict
I love this palette and it is currently a staple in my makeup collection (it complements the Naked palette beautifully). Even though this product is great, what would make it perfect would be if it included some more cooler toned colors... but even with that, you can be certain that when palette runs out the first thing I am going to do is run to target to repurchase it!

New Blog, New Post
Well it's time to cut the metaphorical ribbon on this blog and well... begin blogging for lack of better terms. The first matter of business is "thought bubble." For those of you who don't know (which would be the vast majority) thought bubble was my old blog (it was also fondly called reader's nook), and much like a drawing done in first grade that you were proud of once upon a time it now lies with the dust bunnies in the back of the closet, so yes it's over between me and that blog. Wow, did I really use a break up line when talking about my old blog? Why yes... yes I did.
